Was going to dist-upgrade this morning when I saw that nvidia-glx was to be removed and lots of xorg stuff to be upgraded. A check with apt-cache policy found 7.1.0-1 was the latest xserver-xorg version. worked for me but i had already upgraded my nvidia-glx package.
A new version with fixes for 7.1 came out a week or two ago

Hmmm... that's strange. I have the latest nvidia-glx installed:

no known issues so far, we checked it out since yesterday.

Remove nvidia-glx! Thats incompatible with my nvidia script!

Ah, I see why you guys don't have this problem. Sorry for not saying so earlier but this is my debian sid install and I install nvidia via the module assistant. As I have mentioned elsewhere I also maintain an up-to-date kanotix install and for that I use your nvidia script. Will be d-uing that this weekend.
I just d-ued the debian sid and everything went fine. The latest nvidia-glx (1.0.8774-3) is now in sid.

I do too strder, but I stop by here whenever a dist-upgrade looks risk as well.
