General Support - su password error...

First off, a big thanks to Kano and crew for THE best distro out there. I tried all the popular distros and then some and Kanotix is the only one that got me up and running right off the bat without having to tweek and screw around.

My problem is the first one I've had that I haven't been able to fix or figure out on my own. When putting in my su password in Konsole everything is fine. However, when using that same password for synaptic or file manager it tells me incorrect password. I've changed my password twice now to see if I could fix this and the same problem occurs with my updated password.

I'm completely stumped here and would appreciate any help. BTW, I'm running Easter 2006 and I do a D-U every Sunday.

Thanks!!!

In case you're running a partly upgraded system, doing a full system upgrade (dist-upgrade) might fix it, problems like this happened with kdelibs 3.5.5a and kdebase (kdesu) 3.5.4 - maybe also with other X11 su frontends (please check kdesu or gksu manually).

Snowboarder, yea, either wait until Sunday and your d-u should install the latest stuff, and hence fix the problem, or you can do:
apt-get update
apt-get install kdebase
... and that should fix the problem now.
