When I start Gtk application I receive the following errors:

Why? How can I solve the problem?

As far as I know, it should be spelled en_US.UTF-8 (and not utf8, as you posted).

Just changed to UTF8 but same problem. I would add that in both cases accented letters written previously with kwrite are susbstitued with question marks on black romboidal background. However if I type an accented letter now is displayed and saved correctly.

I am always getting error messages like these:
Qt: Locales not supported on X server
QInputContext: no input method context available
QInputContext: no input method context available
