I have a 32MB (older) Nvidia card. I was reading the manual for my motherboard and came across some setting called "agp aperture" which lets you choose the amount of SYSTEM MEMORY for agp. The default is set at 64MB. I have 512MB main system memory. What is a good balance between the 32MB video card, and agp aperture? I don't use any video acceleration so the 32MB card is enough for what I use computer for. Since it is set at the default (64MB) setting (using system memory) can I either disable it or set it to lowest setting (16MB)?? I would rather not use system memory for video since the 32MB seems to be working fine. But then on the other hand sometimes I like to view streaming video, so would I be better off just keeping it where it is? Please, some suggestions.... |

somtimes this agp-aperture is miss understood. This does not reserve any memory you have installed. This is only a memory-window-address, where programms can write direkt access the Graphics-ram. The main memory is not used for such operations. |
