fglrx und Cinerama

Hallo Kanoten,

versuche seit einiger Zeit meinen Zweitbildschirm am Laptop zum laufen zu bringen - jedoch ohne Erfolg. Mit den alten ATI-Treibern hat es im letzten Jahr noch funktioniert... Heute habe ich mal die xorg.conf ausgemistet und "nur noch" folgendes drin stehen:

Einrichten möchte ich unter 2.6.17.3-slh-up-1 und xorg 7.0.22 dabei einen Desktop über zwei Bildschirme (TFT + CRT). Kann mir da jemand weiterhelfen?
Die Tools von ati (aticontrol) ändern bei mir nichts an der Conf-Datei (dh. auch keine Änderung im Verhalten) und die Vorschläge aus dem Forum haben mir bisher auch nicht geholfen (habe aber auch nicht alle gelesen).

Hoffe auf Tipps,

Eine Lösung wäre für dich, Xinerama zu aktivieren. Das fasst die beiden X-Sessions zu einem großen Desktop zusammen. Füge dazu in der xorg.conf in der Section ServerLayout noch diese Zeilen ein:

Option "Xinerama" "on"
Option "Clone" "off"

Großer Nachteil des Ganzen: zumindest bei mir ist dann DRI (und damit jede 3D-Beschleunigung) auf beiden Displays deaktiviert. Xinerama und 3D gleichzeitig scheint mit fglrx nicht möglich zu sein, ich habe da schon 1000 Varianten ausprobiert. Es gibt ein paar Pseudo-Xinerama-Varianten, aber die sind auch nicht gut. Da wird z.B. über beide Monitore maximiert und sowas wie die Taskleiste geht auch über beide. Die Desktop-Umgebungen sehen da also nur einen großen Bildschirm, nicht zwei kleine.

Das ist eine gute Idee, aber funktioniert leider nicht. Traurig
Ich sehe immer nur den Clone-Bildschirm, den man im BIOS aktivieren kann. Mit den Augen rollen Werde gleich mal probieren, das umzustellen - hoffe das dann mehr zu sehen ist... Jedenfalls habe ich eine mickrige Bildwiederholfrequenz auf dem CRT.

Gibt es noch weitere Tipps?

Nee, hat leider nicht geklappt. Habe auch noch mal an der xorg.conf rumgespielt - ohne Erfolg.
