Hi,
I've been reading up on broken dsdt tables (since my laptop seems to have one as do most machines) and was wondering if support for loading a seperate dsdt was going to be added to the Kanotix kernel. I've read on the forums that the slh kernels currently support this. It would be nice to have this feature as this always requires recompiling the kernel if you don't support it from the start. Thanks. |

Kanotix doesn't seem to be as sensitive to bad DSDT BIOS tables as other Linux kernels. My Asus A8N CSM motherboard had a broken DSDT table for the longest time and I still was able to get powernow running on Kanotix...
Download the CD and boot it to find out. That's what I did |

kenyee, Thanks for your input. powernow is just part of ACPI. Although, are you sure that Kanotix uses a different ACPI implementation from other distros? I would think that it would require quite a lot of additional work to make ACPI less sensitive. |
