Hello,
After installing 3 distros & XP on my HD I only have an option of XP and Kanotix on boot-up.
I would like to be able to operate all 3 linux distros & XP when I choose. I have a vague idea what I need to to but am still too green at this to know how to do it.
There must be a command I can type to be able to find the paths to the other distros. If I view the HD using Ubuntu Live-CD the #'s for hda seem to be on different partitions then if I view in Kanotix. What's up?

you will have to add your third distro by hand to /boot/grub.menu.lst of your kanotix install.
you will find the right entry in the root-partition of that distro, in /boot/grub /menu.lst, if it is a debian distro, or i the corresponding dir, if its not.
so, if kanotix was on hda1 and the other on hda2, you would copy the entry from hda2 to hda1.
