Now that's a cool logo, Cathbard - the blue swirl with the K and the penguin! IMHO looks better than the K on the konq logo. And apropos blue: The new Kanotix theme is so cool (I guess I've said that before  ) - but when I open a window there are those shiny blue colors, especially the window decoration, that IMHO does disturb the good impression a bit. Why not use a Kanotix specific color scheme (and also a darker colored konq throbber - i.e. through a knx icon theme just containing the throbber in 16,22 and 32 and the kmenu buttons and inheriting crystalsvg and hicolor)?

These are the colour schemes I made to go with the overall kanotix theme. I also have the beryl themes in the fourth post.
I use the second one. Just click on them to download and iimport by going into:
K>control centre>Appearances and Themes>colors>Import Scheme
and select the file you downloaded.

We use the debian logo's all the time. I thought that this being a debian derivative would allow us to use debian stuff. The name debian never appears without the name kanotix beside it in a more prominent setting.
If there are restrictions in that area I need to know.

I've made the wallpaper in 1200x800 now for those that need it. It's in the first post with the others or just click the pic.
For those missing splashy words...is this correct?
press esc for verbose - drucke esc um details zu sehen (oumlauts over u in drucke)

switching to verbose - in detailmodus wechseln

Here is a sneak preview of the german splashy. I won't post it in the first page until the deb hits the repos but here it is for your perusal and german proof reading.
Click on the image to download it.
To install the theme, open a shell, change directory to where you downloaded it and type:
su
unfreeze-rc.d
splashy_config -i KanotixPenguins-de.tar.gz
splashy_config -s KanotixPenguins-de
freeze-rc.d
I am of course assuming you have a functioning splashy. |

The "s" has been added to the german splashy so just download it again. There are no capitals for design reasons. I know it's gramatically incorrect but grammar has no place in art.
You can uninstall the old one with "splashy_config -u KanotixPenguins-de". If you already have the first version installed it's probably easier to just replace the images in /etc/splashy/themes/KanotixPengins-de with the ones inside the new download. |

The white stripe at the left is nearly gone, thanks But call me nitpicking - the image still seems to be 1200x800 instead of 1280x800? And when you open the image with e.g. showimg you'll see there still is a very small light stripe in the middle of the left border. I can live with it - but wonder did you do the editing with gimp? With the latest gimp versions I have that problem too, my edited photos have that small white border which I cannot see in gimp. |

I've been playing. This is my own set, not the official one. It has a few extra goodies and some expeimental stuff. I will be modifying things and adding to it as time goes by and will inform you of updates here. I have a few ideas to try out.
